Bermuda Visa and Entry Requirements: What You Actually Need

Updated: May 2026

Bermuda Entry Visa

If you are planning a trip to Bermuda, the first thing to settle is whether you need a visa, what travel papers you must carry, and what to fill in before you land. The short version, Bermuda no longer issues a separate tourist entry visa for any country.

The longer version, depending on your nationality and how you reach the island, you may still need a multiple re-entry visa for the United States, the United Kingdom, or Canada, and almost every visitor arriving by air or private yacht must complete a free online form called the Bermuda Arrival Card.

I get a lot of reader questions on this topic, so I have rewritten this page to reflect the changes Bermuda made through the Immigration and Protection (Prohibition of Entry) Order 2025, which was further updated by a No. 2 Order on 17 July 2025. For what you can bring in, see Bermuda Customs Duty

Does Bermuda Require a Visa?

For tourists and short-term business visitors, Bermuda itself does not require a separate entry visa from any country. That has been the position since March 1, 2014, when Bermuda abolished its old visa-controlled tourist visa.

What still matters is the country you transit through. Bermuda has no direct flights from Asia, Africa, or the Middle East, so almost every overseas visitor passes through the United States, the United Kingdom, or Canada. If you are not a citizen of one of those three gateway countries, you will need a valid multiple re-entry visa for whichever one you use. Bermuda Immigration calls this the MRV (Multi Re-Entry Visa).

So the practical answer to "do I need a visa for Bermuda" depends on three things, your nationality, your route to the island, and whether you are coming as a tourist or on a work permit.

Is the Bermuda Travel Authorization Still Needed?

No. The Travel Authorization was eliminated on November 14, 2022. During the pandemic, Bermuda ran a paid online Travel Authorization (the 40-dollar TA) with vaccination and test conditions attached. That entire system was scrapped. There is no longer any TA, no fee, no health uploads, and no vaccination or testing requirement to enter Bermuda.

In its place, the Bermuda Tourism Authority brought back the Bermuda Arrival Card, a free pre-arrival declaration that visitors complete online. A lot of older guides and search results still refer to a Bermuda Travel Authorization. Treat those as out of date, and do not pay any third-party website that asks for money to issue one.

Bermuda Arrival Card for US Citizens and All Other Visitors

If you are flying into Bermuda or arriving on a private yacht, you must complete the Bermuda Arrival Card before or on arrival. This applies to US citizens, Canadians, British citizens, and every other nationality. Cruise ship passengers and Bermudian residents do not need to fill it in.

The official form sits on the Government of Bermuda site at BermudaArrivalCard.com. It is free. You enter passport details, your flight or vessel information, your address in Bermuda, and dates of stay. Once you submit, you get a confirmation by email that you show on arrival at the airport.

Key things to know about the Arrival Card. It is not a visa, just a digital declaration that replaces the old paper "Pink Form" that used to be handed out on aircraft. If you forget to do it online, a hard copy Pink Form is still available at the airport, so you will not be turned back for missing it. Filling it online is just faster.

Each traveler needs their own form, including children, and a parent can submit on a child's behalf. The card is single-entry, so if you leave Bermuda and come back on a separate trip, you submit a new one. There is no government fee, ever. If a website is charging you 30 or 50 dollars to "process" your Arrival Card, you are on a third-party page, not the official one.

Bermuda Entry Requirements by Traveler Category

Citizen of the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada

You do not need a visa of any kind to enter Bermuda. You need a valid passport that covers your stay, a return or onward ticket, and the Bermuda Arrival Card if you are arriving by air or private yacht. US passport cards are not accepted for air travel into Bermuda, only the passport book is.

On closed-loop cruises that start and end at the same US port, a US passport card or a birth certificate plus government-issued photo ID is generally acceptable for US citizens, but I still recommend a passport book in case of any emergency that requires you to fly home.

If You Are a National of Another Country

You can visit Bermuda as a tourist without a Bermuda visa, but you need a valid multiple re-entry visa for the country you transit through. The conditions Bermuda Immigration checks at the gate are:

(1) Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 45 days beyond your intended date of departure from Bermuda.

(2) Your MRV (US, UK, or Canadian) must also be valid for a minimum of 45 days beyond that date.

(3) You must hold a return or onward air ticket. A one-way ticket to Bermuda will not get you past immigration.

If you are flying onward to a third country from Bermuda, you must also hold a valid visa for that country if your nationality requires one.

If You Are a Permanent Resident of the US, UK, or Canada

Your green card or PR card, together with a valid passport from your country of citizenship, is treated by Bermuda Immigration as the equivalent of an MRV. You do not need any additional Bermuda visa. Bring both documents, both must be valid for a minimum of 45 days beyond your departure from Bermuda.

Bermuda Visa for Indians with US Visa

Indian nationals are on Bermuda's current Visa Controlled Nationals List, but the practical impact for tourism is small. If you are an Indian passport holder with a valid multiple-entry US visitor visa, you can travel to Bermuda as a tourist without applying for any separate Bermuda visa.

Your US visa, valid for at least 45 days beyond your departure from Bermuda, along with your passport and a return ticket, is what Bermuda Immigration looks for.

The same logic applies if you hold a multi-entry UK Standard Visitor Visa or a multi-entry Canadian visitor visa. Use whichever you have and route through that country.

The only place where Indian nationality bites harder is if you are coming to Bermuda on a Work Permit. Then your MRV must cover the full term of the work permit plus 45 days. See the work permit section below.

The same approach applies to nationals of China, Pakistan, the Philippines (now off the list, so technically not visa-controlled, but you still need the MRV for the gateway), Sri Lanka, Nigeria, South Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Vietnam, Russia, Ukraine, and the other countries on Bermuda's current visa-controlled list.

Current Visa Controlled Nationals List (effective 17 July 2025)

Bermuda updates this list from time to time, usually to align with the UK. The Bermuda Immigration and Protection (Prohibition of Entry) (No. 2) Order 2025 took effect on 17 July 2025. Citizens of the following countries fall under the visa-controlled category and must arrive in Bermuda with a valid MRV for the US, UK, or Canada, or a Bermudian Government letter confirming they belong to Bermuda or are the spouse of a Bermudian.

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Belarus, Burundi, Cameroon, China (People's Republic of), Colombia, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Eswatini (Swaziland), Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, North Korea, Kosovo, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar (Burma), Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Russia, Rwanda, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

Some changes worth flagging since the January 2025 Order. Trinidad and Tobago was added. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Benin, Bhutan, Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan, Philippines, and Thailand were among the countries removed. Earlier in January 2025, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were removed, and Colombia was added. So citizens of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Philippines, and Thailand no longer fall under Bermuda's visa-controlled category, though they still need a valid MRV for whichever gateway country they transit through.

For nationals of Cuba, Haiti, Ukraine, and Venezuela, Bermuda allows entry without an MRV condition if they hold a standard Bermuda work permit. For everyone else on the list, the MRV requirement applies.

Bermuda Entry Requirements for Cruise Passengers, and the COVID Question

For cruise passengers calling at Bermuda, the process is simpler in two respects. First, no Bermuda Arrival Card is required, because the cruise line handles passenger manifests.

Second, there are no COVID testing or vaccination requirements anymore. Those ended along with the Travel Authorization on 14 November 2022. Any older guidance about pre-arrival negative tests, masks at the airport, or proof of vaccination is no longer applicable.

For a US citizen on a closed-loop sailing, the typical minimum is a government-issued photo ID and proof of citizenship, although a passport book is still the safer document to carry.

For non-US cruise passengers, the rule is the same as for air travel, a multiple re-entry visa for the gateway country you sail from, with the 45-day buffer beyond your departure from Bermuda. Most cruises to Bermuda originate from US ports like New York, Boston, Cape Liberty, and Norfolk, so a multi-entry US visa is what you will normally be carrying. See Bermuda Cruises for cruise itinerary detail and port information.

Transiting Through the US, UK, or Canada

If you are not a citizen of the US, UK, or Canada and your itinerary takes you through one of these countries, you need a transit-permitting MRV for that gateway, even if you do not leave the airside area. Here is how the three gateways work in practice.

Through the UK as a tourist, you can apply for a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) if you will stay inside the international transit zone, or a Standard Visitor Visa if you might need to clear UK immigration between connecting flights. The Standard Visitor Visa is multi-entry and is normally issued for 6 months, 2, 5, or 10 years.

Through the US, you apply for the regular B1/B2 visitor visa, which is multi-entry and normally issued for up to 10 years. The C-1 transit visa exists but is short-term and not usually suitable for repeated use.

Through Canada, you apply for a multi-entry visitor visa, or if your nationality qualifies, you may travel under the eTA. Bermuda Immigration treats the eTA as a valid travel authorization for transit purposes.

Working in Bermuda, What Changes

If you are coming to Bermuda on a job, a Bermuda work permit is mandatory in addition to whatever transit visa you need. The work permit is applied for by your Bermuda-based employer at the Department of Immigration. You do not apply for it yourself. See Working in Bermuda for the full process.

The 45-day rule is more demanding for work permit holders. Your MRV must remain valid for the entire duration of the work permit plus 45 days. If your permit is for 3 years, your MRV needs to cover 3 years and 45 days. That is why I usually advise people coming for multi-year contracts to ask for a 5 or 10 year Standard Visitor Visa for the UK, which is the easiest route for many South Asian and African nationalities.

At work permit renewal, the MRV must again be valid through the renewal period plus 45 days. Plan ahead, because missing this deadline can stall a renewal.

If you are arriving as a non-Bermudian spouse of a Bermudian, or as a dependant taking up residence, the 45-day rule on the MRV does not apply, because your stay is treated as permanent.

How Long Can You Stay?

Bermuda does not issue a tourist visa as a separate document. Permission to land is granted by an immigration officer at L.F. Wade International Airport, and the officer decides how long you may stay. The outer limit for visitors is 180 cumulative days in any rolling 12-month period.

This is a change from the older "calendar year" rule and came into effect in January 2024. Visitors who have already used their 180 days within the preceding 12 months are expected to depart, and re-entry within the next six months can be refused.

If you need longer than the period stamped on arrival, an application to extend can be made to the Department of Immigration in Hamilton before your current permission expires. Supporting documents (proof of funds, accommodation, travel insurance, onward booking) are normally required, and approval is not automatic.

Anyone planning to stay close to the 180-day ceiling, or to return frequently within the same 12 months, should track their cumulative days carefully.

Business visitors are a separate category. Under the Work Permit Policy 2025, which took effect on 1 November 2025, the maximum stay for a business visitor is 14 consecutive days per visit, down from the earlier 21 days.

The activities permitted on a business-visitor landing are narrowly defined in the policy, covering things like board and committee meetings, conferences, short training programs, and site inspections, with no remuneration from a Bermuda-based employer.

Anything beyond that scope, or beyond 14 days, requires a work permit: typically a Periodic Work Permit (up to 30 days per visit, capped at 180 days in a 12-month period) or a Short-Term Work Permit (three to six months, not extendable).

A separate point that often catches first-time visitors: your passport must be valid for at least 45 days beyond your planned departure from Bermuda, and the same 45-day buffer applies to any Multi Re-entry Visa you need for the U.S., U.K., or Canada en route. Travelers who arrive short of that buffer are refused entry.

Practical Points Before You Land

Carry a passport book, not just a passport card, if you can. The passport book is the universally accepted travel document and the only valid air-travel document for non-US citizens.

Children of all ages need their own passport. Bermuda does not allow parents to combine children on their passport for entry.

Married women traveling under their married name but holding identification in their maiden name should carry their marriage certificate or a certified copy.

If you carry an old passport with a still-valid US visa, bring both passports. Bermuda Immigration is fine with the visa sitting in an expired passport so long as you also produce your current one.

Two simple things must be done on arrival, the Bermuda Arrival Card (now digital) if you came by air or yacht, and a customs declaration. See Bermuda Customs Duty for what you can and cannot bring in.

If a Bermuda work permit was issued to you with a "visa-controlled" condition written on it, that condition is binding regardless of any general policy you read elsewhere. The work permit document is the controlling instruction.

A Note on Accuracy

Bermuda's Visa Controlled Nationals List shifts with the UK's own list, which changes more often than the US or Canadian equivalents. I update this page when the Government of Bermuda gazettes a new Order, but for borderline cases you should always confirm directly with the Department of Immigration or the nearest British High Commission before you book non-refundable travel.

Hi Raj. Your answers on this topic have been excellent. I have a question. I am from Trinidad and Do NOT need a visa to travel to the UK. I have a job offer in  Bermuda and will travel through the US to get to Bermuda. My US b1/b2 Visa will expire in 6months and my contract in Bermuda is 1 year. Will I need to have my US visa be valid for 1 year to get my work permit approved , or will they consider that I can transit out of Bermuda through the UK as a viable alternative ? Of course I can apply to have my US visa renewed in Bermuda. But I am concerned that my 6month visa expiry(US) will hamper my work permit ....looking forward to your response.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) September 2022
Hi, the work permit process is independently done and usually does not depend on your current visa status, because many foreigners apply for their MRV visa for the US/UK in parallel to the work permit process. The US/UK visa validity comes into play when you land in Bermuda and do your immigration. This is when the papers are checked and you need to show that your UK/US visa is valid minimum of 45 days beyond your work permit. Since you are transiting through the US while entering Bermuda, the Bermuda Immigration will likely assume that you will also return through the US. That you can always return through the UK without requiring any UK visa is something you need to reason out with them, and that should be possible. Suggest you write to Bermuda Immigration and get an official confirmation on this which can be a handy document to carry.

Hi, I am a fiji citizen and am also currently residing in Fiji. I have being offered a job  in Bermuda and am kindly awaiting my work permit approval. Question: Which transit US visa do I need to apply? And do I apply once my work permit is approved? Thank you.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) August 2022
Hello, you will need to apply for a Multi Re-Entry Visa (MRV) for the US... it can be a visitor's visa which is issued for up to 10 years or less, however, it should be valid for a minimum of 45 days beyond the term (i.e. validity period) of your Bermuda work permit. One can apply for a US visitor's visa independently by paying the visa fee for the number of years for which it is required along with producing other standard documentation. However, if you want to justify your requirement for the visa by mentioning your job in Bermuda, then you will ideally need to produce a copy of your work permit when making the visa application. Otherwise, you can apply for a US visa simply as a visitor who should be eligible to re-enter the US multiple times over a specified period by paying the applicable fee.

Hi Raj, we are planning to take a cruise from the US to Bermuda, I need some assistance, I'm Canadian citizen, my wife has Indian Passport with Canadian Permanent Residence (PR) status with US multi entry visa and two children both have Canadian passports. We are boarding the cruise from the US.  Are We ok to travel, Does my wife need Bermuda visa and she can board from US? Thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) April 2022
Hi, Bermuda itself does not require any visa for tourists. Since your wife has a multi-entry visa for the US (which should be valid for a minimum of 45 days from the intended date of departure from Bermuda), she is okay to visit Bermuda from the US. As Canadian nationals, the rest of you do not need any entry visas for the US and therefore there is no issue in taking a cruise from the US to Bermuda. Suggest you take a confirmation on this from your cruise line as well.

Danku Emmanuel (February 2022)
Hi, is Direct Airside Transit Visa the same as multi re-entry visa? Coming to Bermuda through the UK, do I have to secure valid visa or residence permit or work permit before I can apply for the UK transit visa?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) February 2022
Hi, UK Direct Airside Transit Visa is a short-term visa. In order to work in Bermuda, your Multi Re-Entry Visa for the UK needs to be valid through the work permit term + 45 days. So, you should apply for a Standard Visitor's Visa which can be issued for up to 10 years depending on your requirement. Instead of independently applying as a visitor, if you want to justify your requirement by citing the job in Bermuda, you should ideally produce a copy of the work permit while applying for the UK Visa.

Priyank Pradeep Umale (January 2022)
I am an Indian national and my employer has applied for Bermuda work permit. They have asked me to apply for travel visa through US, UK or Canada. Can you please let me know which country visa is easier to get and what type of visa needs to be raised.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) January 2022
You should apply for a visa through the UK. It has become difficult to get such visas through the USA, and Canada is further away. You need to apply for a multi-entry Standard Visitors Visa for the UK (you may reconfirm this with the nearest British Embassy or a Visa Consultant).

Note that a muti-entry visa through the UK, USA or Canada should remain valid until your work permit expires + 45 days... this is a Bermuda Immigration requirement and this will help you get back to your home country during the holidays and return to work in Bermuda. The Standard Visitors Visa for the UK can be issued for up to 10 years.

If I am a Haitian citizen , what are my requirements to travel to Bermuda? While researching tickets to Bermuda, I notice that the flights fly through either the U.S, UK , etc. Would I have to receive a transit visa for either countries first ? Please assist.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) September 2021
Yes, you need multi re-entry visa for the UK or the USA, whichever country you are transiting through. There is no entry visa required for Bermuda itself.

Oleg (July 2021)
Hi. I am an Ukrainian, but I have a US green card. Can I come to Bermuda without a visa with a Ukrainian passport and with a green card?  Thank you.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) July 2021
Hi, yes you can visit Bermuda as a tourist without requiring any visa if you have a US Green Card, your passport should be valid for a minimum of 45 days from the intended date of departure from Bermuda.

Thanosdeep (June 2021)
I have been offered a job by a Bermudian company and I accepted the job offer. The company sent me a checklist to apply for a work permit. In the checklist, I noticed multiple entry visas from either of three nations USA, UK, CANADA. So do I need to apply for a visa before obtaining a work permit?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) June 2021
The work permit application will be made by the Bermudian company and they will send that to you once they receive it from Bermuda Immigration... so, practically you have no role to play in obtaining the work permit other than providing the information requested by the company as per the checklist.

Depending on your nationality, a multi re-entry visa (MRV) for the US, UK or Canada will be required, because unless you are a citizen of one of these three countries, you will need to pass through one of these to enter Bermuda. The same visa can be then used for getting back to your home country on vacations and re-entering Bermuda, and finally returning home for good. For example, in order to transit through the UK, you may apply for a Standard Visitor's Visa which can be issued for up to 10 years and it allows you to transit through the UK within 48 hours of landing.

Remember, your multi re-entry visa (MRV) should be valid for minimum 45 days beyond the expiration of the work permit, otherwise, you will not be allowed entry into Bermuda.

Hello Sir, am very impressed with the information from your website. Please I am a Cameroonian based in Cameroon. From the information I got on your website, I wish to confirm this info. I have a Cameroon passport. I have A transit Visa through Canada. I have a flight ticket for Bermuda. I have a hotel booking for Bermuda. Now I have two questions: Am I good to enter Bermuda even if I do not have an invitation letter from Bermuda or a work permit?? secondly, is it possible to change from Visit visa to Work Permit in Bermuda?? Best Regards

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) June 2020
Hello, yes you are good to go as a visitor, provided you are going through Canada. There is no visit visa for Bermuda and you can not obtain a work permit while on a visit to Bermuda.

Geo (May 2020)
I am a Bermudian living in America (PR). I would like to visit but my passport is expired (UK passport). Can I travel to Bermuda with it and renew while I'm there? Thank you for your help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) May 2020
Hello, you can not travel to Bermuda without a valid passport. You need to get your passport renewed at the US through the British Embassy.

Frederick (February 2020)
Hello sir, we are from Philippines and we are planning to travel to Bermuda as tourists for 1 week with my wife and my daughter for vacation. We are living as temporary residents in Mexico, do we need to apply for tourist visa. Thank you sir.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) February 2020
There is no tourist visa required for Bermuda. However, if you are catching a flight from the US to Bermuda, you need to get a multi-reentry visa for the USA which should be valid for minimum 45 days beyond your departure date from Bermuda.

Ruth (February 2020)
Hello there, am a Ugandan passport holder currently living and working in the United Arab Emirates and would like to visit Bermuda. I have tried looking for the consulate or embassy of Bermuda here and failed. Question is: how do I apply for the multi entry visas for transit? And is there any extra document needed at customs before entering Bermuda? Will be waiting.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) February 2020
Hello, Bermuda doesn't have an Embassy or Consulate of its own. Since it's a British Overseas Territory, you need to approach the British Embassy or their agent to get the muti-entry visa through the UK. You will need return air tickets and passport valid for a minimum 45 days from the date of your departure from Bermuda.

Amit Chadha (February 2020)
Hi Raj, I am very impressed by your blog and need some assistance for visiting Bermuda. I am an Indian National (Indian Passport) living (residence Permit) in UK.  I have a valid visitor Visa for USA and Canada. Could you please advise if I need a visa to visit Bermuda? It's for a week long Business trip just a couple of meetings. Also, my wife plans to accompany ne on this trip. She has a UK residence permit as well but does not hold a US or Canadian Visa. Does she need a multi entry/ transit Visa for US if our flight is via US? Thanks in advance.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) February 2020
Hi, there is no Bermuda entry visa required for tourists or business visitors. If you fly to Bermuda directly from the UK, both of you are good to go. If you fly via the US, you are okay because you have US visitor's visa, however, your wife would require a multi-entry visa for the US.

Ryan (January 2020)
I want to know how to get a Bermuda tourist visa from Nigeria, west Africa as they don't have a consulate or embassy here. Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com) January 2020
Hello, you do not need a tourist visa for Bermuda. You need to ensure that you have a multi re-entry visa for the UK through which you might be transiting to get to Bermuda and that should be valid for minimum 45 days beyond your date of departure from Bermuda.

Jane (January 2020)
I am a Chinese citizen holding Canadian Permanent Card and plan to fly to Bermuda from Toronto for a week. Do I need visa? Thanks.

If you are visiting as a tourist, you don't need a visa for Bermuda.

Lav (November 2019)
Hi Raj, I will be visiting my mother in December, who is married to a Bermudian. I do not hold residency/status of Bermuda myself. I am British. My boyfriend is Dutch, has a Netherlands passport. We will fly to Bermuda via Gatwick and then leave for 2 days to New York, then fly straight to Amsterdam. He has an ESTA. Does he also require any kind of VISA? Thank you so much.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, November 2019)
Hi, if he has ESTA for the US, he won't require any other visa to visit Bermuda.

Carl Iannace (October 2019)
Dear Raj, I am a US citizen and have been traveling to Bermuda for many years now. I've been a member of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club since 1993. For two years I have been providing housing for a family in Udaipur, India. The eldest son, Ankit, is like my son, and we have a very good relationship and are in contact every day. I will be in India for a month starting on November 17. I would very much like to bring Ankit to Bermuda as a tourist. I realize that many countries are very sensitive right now about illegal immigration. Ankit who is now 21, was denied a visa to visit the US, despite my assurances that he would never become an illegal immigrant. My question is how would it be possible for him to get a visa to visit Bermuda. If you can help with this, I would be very grateful. Sincerely,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2019)
Hello, Bermuda itself doesn't require any visa for tourists. However, his best option would be to take a multiple-entry transit visa for UK (known as Direct Airside Transit Visa or DATV) and travel through London (an airport transfer is usually required from Heathrow to Gatwick). Application for US Transit visa is likely to be refused.

Hi, no you don't need a Bermuda visa to visit the island as a tourist.

Sera Canbaz (July 2019)
Hi, I am working/living in France but have a Turkish passport. I have also a valid US visa until 2023. Do I need any extra visa for Bermuda or is it enough? Many thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2019)
Hi, you do not need any additional visa for Bermuda. However since you are living in France, it would make sense to travel to Bermuda via UK in which case you (as a Turkish citizen) need UK multi-entry transit visa. If you travel via US, then it's okay.

Diane (July 2019)
Hi Raj, I am a 2 year green card holder in US with Philippine passport can I travel to Bermuda with that two documents?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2019)
Hi, yes you can.

K Trooper (July 2019)
Hi Raj! I am a Filipino and currently holding only Philippine passport and German working visa. I am planning to visit my wife in London who is also currently working there and holding Residence Permit in UK. For this reason I have applied for UK VISITOR'S VISA. Now that I have UK Visitor's visa, can we visit Bermuda directly without any visa except of what we have which is UK Visitor's visa? Thank you for your response.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2019)
Hi, if your UK Visitors visa is multi-entry, you can visit Bermuda.

Raj: I am a US citizen wanting to cruise with a Jamaican national from NYC. Does he need a visa to enter Bermuda?

Hi, I am a Polish citizen living permanently in the UK. I am traveling to NY with a multi entry visa and am planning to go to Bermuda for a week. Do I need any additional documents?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2019)
Hi, you need only the passport and your multi-entry visa to the US both of which should be valid for minimum 45 days from your intended date of departure from Bermuda.

Anne (May 2019)
Hi, I am an Irish citizen with an Irish passport. I will be traveling to the US and then taking a cruise to Bermuda. Do I need a visa to go to Bermuda?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2019)
If you are in a close-loop cruise and have necessary documents/visa to re-enter US then you don't need anything else for Bermuda.

Rodrigo (May 2019)
Hi Raj : Reading you from Spain and we are planing 4 days in The Bermuda. I have Canadian passport and my wife has Spanish passport. We are going to fly from Oporto-Toronto and stay 4 days here, then we do Toronto-Bermuda and be in Bermuda 3 or 4 days and we finish travel Bermuda-NYC and stay other 4 days in Manhattan, to return to Oporto again. The question...  do we need  any visa for Bermuda flying from Toronto? Muchas gracias and thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2019)
Hi, you do not need any separate Bermuda visa. You only need to have the necessary visas for Canada and The US, tickets for all the routes back to your country and valid passports.

Jennifer (May 2019)
HI Raj, I'm on a South African passport. I have a work visa and a multiple entry USA visa. Do I require a visa for Bermuda.

Sherry Ann (May 2019)
Hi... I am a Filipino currently here in Dubai United Arab Emirates ... I have invitation letter from my auntie who is already resident of Bermuda... do I need to apply for a visa to enter in Bermuda...or a US MRV (multi transit visa) is enough for me to enter in Bermuda... Thank you.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2019)
Hi, you need an MRV and not a Bermuda visa. UK MRV is easier to get than US MRV.

Mio (March 2019)
Hello Raj. I hope all is well with you. I live in USA and have US diplomatic multi entry visa valid until 2023 (I work for international organisation) I already visited Bermuda and know I can enter without UK visa. However the passport containing my visa has expired two months ago and my consulate in New York issued another one valid for 10 years. I spoke with US immigration services and asked them is it a problem that my visa is in one (expired) passport and my valid passport is used for travel. They (and my employer) told me that that is ok as long as I am in possession of both passports at entry point. Do you think that this will be also ok with Bermuda immigration?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2019)
Hi, you need to carry both passports and you should be okay.

Ramakrishna Chowdary Eadara (January 2019)
Hello Raj, Hope your doing good. I am currently living in Canada on my work permit have a valid multiple entry visa to Canada, I don't have a US or UK visa. Do I need visa to visit Bermuda. please assist. Thank you.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2019)
Hi, If you are flying directly to Bermuda from Canada, you don't need any other visa. Otherwise you need an MRV for US or UK.

Christer Swartz (December 2018)
I am a US citizen and I would like to visit Bermuda with my girlfriend. She is a permanent resident of the US and she holds a green card, but she is not a US citizen. She is a citizen of Turkey. Can she visit Bermuda with her US green card and Turkish passport? Or would she need a visa, or additional documents? Thanks,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2018)
She can visit Bermuda with her US Green Card and Turkish Passport.

Sherif Sidhom (July 2018)
I'm US citizen and have three visitors from Egypt with valid passports and multiple entry visas to the US. Do they need visa to visit Bermuda on Norwegian Cruse Line?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2018)
No, they don't need any visa for Bermuda as long as they have multi-entry visas to the US (valid for minimum 45 days beyond the date of departure from Bermuda).

Ellen (June 2018)
I am a G4 visa holder in the United States (working for an international organization) and would like to know if I need a visa into Bermuda. My nationality requires visa into the UK.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2018)
If your visa to the US allows multi-entry and you intend to get back to the US after visiting Bermuda, then no other visa is required to visit Bermuda.

Andrew Golden (June 2018)
Hello Raj, I live in the U.S.  My girlfriend is from Ukraine and lives here as a permanent resident with a Ukrainian Passport.  We are planning to travel to Bermuda in August of this year for vacation. Does she need a visa?  Her resident status at the moment is conditional.  We are both returning to the U.S. after our stay in Bermuda. Thank you,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2018)
Hi, no she won't need a visa to enter Bermuda, however her conditional PR status should not have any restriction to re-enter the US.

Siam (May 2018)
Hey Raj, I wanted to just make it clear for my case. I am not a U.S. Citizen but have a Green Card (with a Bangladesh passport). Will I require a visa to enter Bermuda even though I'd be allowed to re-enter the US with my Green Card alone? Thanks in advance! Hoping to bring my family down soon.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2018)
Hi, US Green Card is enough for entry to Bermuda. However please ensure that re-entry to US is explicitly mentioned even for your family members.

Spandan Shah (May 2018)
Hello, We are Indian nationals living in the US (green card approved). Our parents are visiting the US from India. And we would like to take a cruise to Bermuda from Boston. I was wondering if my parents are allowed entry into Bermuda if they have multiple entry visa to the US. Or do we have to apply for a separate visa for Bermuda? Thank you,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2018)
Hi, yes your parents can enter Bermuda if they have multi-entry visa for the US.

Katina Barton (April 2018)
My family will be on a closed loop cruise from New Jersey to Bermuda.  Is it really necessary for all of us to have passports?  Our cruise line doesn't require it.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, April 2018)
As already mentioned on my webpage, if you are a US citizen and on a closed loop cruise to Bermuda, you can alternatively use a proof of citizenship and a government issued photo-id in lieu of the passport.

Liang Tan (March 2018)
Hello Raj, I have a question about traveling to Bermuda by cruise. So I have few relatives came from China to visit me in the U.S. and I am thinking about taking them to Bermuda, the question is do they need any special visa to travel there? They are currently holding China passports with U.S. visas. Thank you in advance!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2018)
Hi, no they don't need any separate visa for Bermuda.

Salman Sajun (March 2018)
Hello, My wife and I have valid working visas for Canada (currently living and working in Canada) with Multiple re entry visas to Canada, USA and UK. Do we require a visa to enter Bermuda? Please advise. Thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2018)
Hi, your existing work visa is good enough to visit Bermuda.

Steve Silver (March 2018)
My Step-son lives in Vladivostok, Russia. His mother and I are married and live in Denver. They have not seen each other in 6+ years. He was just denied a tourist Visa to enter the U.S. for two weeks. Is my son-in-law able to obtain and enter Bermuda for 8 days this summer, July 2018? If so, how long does it take to obtain a MRV? Thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2018)
Hi, there has been many cases of MRV being rejected by the US in recent times particularly for Asian countries. He can try through the UK. You can get in touch with a British Embassy near you to know how much time it might take to get a multi-entry transit visa for a Russian.

Nimi (March 2018)
Hello Raj, My husband is on H1B work visa with USA, we have India passport. Do we need to get a travel visa to visit Bermuda as tourist ?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2018)
Hi, all that Bermuda Immigration cares for is to ensure that as tourists you have valid US visas to return to the US. So technically there is no issue here as long as the H1B visa clearly mentions that both of you are covered by that visa for multiple entry to the US. It wont be otherwise a good idea to assume that Bermuda Immigration would be knowledgeable about countless types of visas issued by the US. In any case, I would suggest that you contact the nearest British Embassy for official confirmation on this.

Edward Lau (February 2018)

We're a family of 4 and we're looking to visit Bermuda for the very first time in April from New York City with a Cruise line. We're not US citizens, we are Permanent Resident Card holders with a valid China passport, therefore do we need a Visa to travel? Thank you for your time.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2018)
Visa is not required.

Mel (December 2017)
Hi my boyfriend was born in Bermuda and is now permanent US resident with green card. The UK passport was obtained as a child expired in 1984ish, can we travel to Bermuda on green card alone?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2017)
Hi, a passport is required.

A Raj Gopal (December 2017)
Dear Mr Raj, I am a Sri Lankan, South African Permanent Residence, currently living in south Africa, do I need visa for entering to Bermuda? I want to use JFK new York for Transit, is It possible to spend one or two days in New York before departing to Bermuda? Thank you

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2017)
There is no separate visa required for tourists or visitors to visit Bermuda. If you are transiting through the US, you will require a C1-Transit Visa. The US Immigration Officer can allow a stay in the US for few days (not exceeding 29 days) based on your travel plan to other countries (such as Bermuda in your case).

Karl (December 2017)
Hello Raj, I have another question for you , thanks again for all your help to me, it is greatly appreciated. Question is: I am a USA citizen, when I fly to Bermuda do I need to show customs control a Hotel Booking or other evidence of some other kind of Lodging to clear customs? because my girlfriend from Ukraine will book a hotel for us,  and I will arrive the following day after to Bermuda, and meet her at her Hotel that she booked for us. Please advise me. Thank you again for all your help. Happy Holidays.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2017)
Hi, although you need to mention the address of your stay in Bermuda and contact information in the immigration form, the hotel booking is usually not required to be shown. If your name is mentioned in the hotel booking, it would be good to carry a copy of that document (or just a whatsapp copy of the booking).

Karl (November 2017)
Hello Raj, How are you doing? Thanks for your reply before...  I have another question for you, if you would be so kind to answer it  I really would appreciate that. My girlfriend received a Multi-Entry visa from the British Embassy in the city of Kiev, Ukraine to travel to Bermuda for a vacation with me. My question is, Can she use that British multi Visa to fly into New York City JFK Airport to transfer flights to Bermuda from New York???

I was searching for flights from London but there are not any direct flights to Bermuda from Great Britain at all?  I'm confused  Please help me?  Will she be able to clear customs in New York with a British Visa to go to Bermuda? Please Help me on what to do?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, November 2017)
Hi, no she can't pass through New York with a multi-entry visa of the UK. She needs to transit through the UK. British Airways has direct flights from Gatwick airport (South-East England). If she lands at Heathrow airport (London), she needs to transfer to Gatwick. There is an airport bus transfer service which she can avail. In winter the British Airways flight service to Bermuda reduces though due to lack of demand.

Joseph (October 2017)

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2017)
She won't need any visa.

Tina (October 2017)
I was wondering if a minor travelling alone for a cultural exchange needs anything specific other than a document from her parents allowing her to do so and a letter of invitation from the school and family hosting her for 4 weeks as well as her passport.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2017)
Yes, those are the documents the child require while travelling to Bermuda from the US, UK or Canada.

Matthew (September 2017)
Hello, My fiancée and I are planning a trip to Bermuda for a week starting September 17th. I am Canadian, but my fiancée is Japanese with a Canadian permanent residency. Our flight is a straight trip from Toronto, Ontario to Hamilton, Bermuda. Does my fiancée require a multiple entry Visa document? Or will her passport + permanent resident  be enough ? Thank you very much.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2017)
Hi, her Canadian PR should be enough to enter Bermuda. She should have a her passport as well as PR valid for minimum 45 days from the intended day of departure from Bermuda.

Karl (September 2017)
Hi, My question is, My girlfriend will be traveling from the Country of Ukraine to meet me in Bermuda. I live in the states here. Does she need to get any type of visa to enter Bermuda successfully ?? If she does could you please advise what type of visa is needed? She will be flying into New York and will have a connecting flight to Bermuda. Thank You for your time to answer me.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2017)
Hi, she would need a multi re-entry transit visa for the US to enter Bermuda. For all nationals other than the US, UK and Canada, Bermuda immigration asks for such multi re-entry visa.

Eve (July 2017)
Hi Raj, I hold a South African passport but currently reside in the US. I am in the process of applying for my green card, but currently still have a valid US visitors visa. Is this sufficient to travel to Bermuda on holiday? Both my passport and visa are still in date. Thank you!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2017)
Hi, US visa should be multi-entry and both visa and passport should be valid for minimum 45 days from the date of departure from Bermuda. You should be then good to go.

Ashwin (June 2017)

Hi Raj, My mom has an Argentinian passport valid for a year and is traveling from US and coming back through Canada. Her US multi-entry visa expires the day after she is coming back. She is good to travel with a return ticket to Canada.

Jeannie (June 2017)

Hi there ...Does a South African passport holder AND a Nigerian passport holder require a visa for entry into Bermuda and how much is the visa fee? Also, how do they apply as we are in SA and there is no representation here ! please help!! Kindest regards.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2017)
Hi, Bermuda no more requires any tourist/visitors visa. However you must have multi-entry transit visa for USA or UK that you pass through. You also need passport valid for minimum 45 days from date of departure from Bermuda and return tickets.

Cici (May 2017)
Hello, I am a Chinese citizen travelling to Bermuda for holiday.  I will be going from China to Heathrow, and then Gatewick to Bermuda.  My understanding is I will need a UK transit visa, and no visa for Bermuda. Is this correct? Thank you.

Correct, no visitor's visa is required for Bermuda.

Maria (May 2017)
We are planning a cruise to Bermuda out of New York on July 30- August 6, 2017 with Norwegian. My mother holds an Italian passport which is going to expire August 28, 2017. She has a valid green card and permanent residency card. Will this be a problem? Thank you for your help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2017)
Passport is required to be valid minimum for 45 days from the date of departure from Bermuda. Check with your cruise line for any exception that can be made on this.

Gina Costello (March 2017)
Hi Raj .... My family will be visiting Bermuda on a cruise ship the beginning of June 2017. We are all US citizens except for my daughter's husband who resides in the US but has a Nigerian passport. He has a green card and a US driver's license. Will this be all that is required for entry to Bermuda? Thank you in advance. My husband, daughter and myself have visited Bermuda many times and love the country and the people. We are looking forward to sharing this beautiful island with our son-in-law.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2017)
Yes, his valid US green card and passport should be enough for the visit.

Irina Kurilina (February 2017)
I would like to know: it's enough if I have UK visit visa only (I plan to visit Bermuda after visit London)? I'm Russian federation citizen.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2017)
Hi, you need multiple entry UK transit visa as well as passport valid minimum for 45 days from date of departure from Bermuda, and also return tickets.

Pearl Banj (January 2017)
Hi. I hold a Thailand passport but am living in the US as an international student (I have a 10-year U.S. VISA). Do I need to apply for a VISA to enter Bermuda?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2017)
Hi, there is no longer any tourist entry visa for Bermuda for any national. As long as you have a visa and passport valid minimum for 45 days from the date of departure from Bermuda and also return tickets to go back to the US, you should be fine.

Tianpeng Liu (January 2017)
Hi, I have a valid Chinese passport and also have a F1 visa (I am studying in the U.S). Am I OK to visit Bermuda? Thank you!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2017)
Yes you can visit subject to having return flight tickets or cruise booking, and passport valid minimum for 45 days from the intended departure from Bermuda.

Daniela (January 2017)
Hi! I'm an Italian citizen. I will travel to Bermuda for my honeymoon leaving from Canada (Toronto) directly to Bermuda. Do I need the ESTA to come in or since I don't stop in the USA it's not needed ? thanks in advance.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2017)
Hi, as long as you have a valid visa to return to Canada or other destination, supporting return or onward tickets and passport valid for minimum 45 days from your intended departure from Bermuda, you should be okay to travel to Bermuda.

Joy Ladero (January 2017)

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2017)
Hello, Yes you can get your MRV (also known as multi entry transit visa) at the British Embassy / Consulate at your country. You also need a passport valid for minimum 45 days from the date of your departure from Bermuda. Consult your local travel agency to know about all documentation required to secure the UK MRV.

Mario (September 2016)
Hi, I am a Croatian citizen and we do not need a visa to enter the UK. If we visit Bermuda flying in from London, do we still need UK MR visa, or just a Croatian passport?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2016)
Hi, Bermuda's main intent is to ensure that tourists possess required travel documents to return to their respective countries or complete any onward travel. Bermuda itself does not have any visa requirement. So you should be okay. Suggest you re-confirm with nearest British Embassy or write to Bermuda Immigration (contact info already provided in the page).

Maria (September 2016)
Hi, My husband is a US resident. He has a valid permanent green card and expired passport (Uzbekistan). We want to book a closed loop 7 day cruise NYC - Bermuda - NYC this October. Can he travel with just a green card and US driver license? Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2016)
Hi, green card with a valid passport would be required.

Olga Caceres (August 2016)
Hi, My husband and I are planning a cruise to Bermudas by September 5 and 6 2016. We have Venezuelan passports (more than six months validity) with USA and Canada multiple entries visas. We have a temporary Colombia visa as we live now in Colombia. Do we need any visa to enter in Bermudas? Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, August 2016)
Bermuda doesn't require a separate tourist visa if you have multi entry transit visa for US/UK (i.e. the country you would be travelling through).

Timothee (July 2016)
Hello, I plan visiting Bermuda soon, I work in the US as a French citizen, with a working visa (E2) and would like to know if need to do any paperwork. Also my parents are planning to come from France also, either from London or transiting through NY (in that case they need an ESTA). Is there also any paperwork? In advance, thanks a lot for the help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, July 2016)
Hi, if your visa allows multiple entry to the US, then you need only valid passport and return tickets. Same with your parents if they are returning to the US, otherwise a multi entry visa for the UK.

Nad (June 2016)
Hi, I want to travel to Bermuda by air from July 8-11. I have a US Green card but it expires July 15. I know 100% that its is valid for re-entry to the US but just wanted to make sure it is acceptable in Bermuda.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2016)
Hi, you should be okay as long as you have a valid passport.

Joanna M (May 2016)
Hello, Are passport requirements to travel to Bermuda the same as the newly changed USA rules? That is, a biometric passport is needed or are non-biometric ones OK for Bermuda? We are travelling from the UK. Thank you for your help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2016)
Hi, Bermuda's Immigration Department hasn't made any communication on such requirement of biometric passport. Non-biometric ones are okay. However you may like to re-confirm this with your nearest British Embassy.

Jermaine Bayot (April 2016)
Hi Raj, I am a Filipino Citizen with a permanent visa in Norway. My Wife and daughter are Norwehian so i believe they dont need a visa. We plan to travel to Bermuda. Do i just need to apply for a UK Visa? Thanks and God Bless.

Hi, yes you need multi entry UK transit visa.

Beril Kaval (March 2016)
I have a question regarding visa requirements for Bermuda and would appreciate your help. I am a Turkish passport holder and living and working in Switzerland. My company has operations in Bermuda and I would need to visit Bermuda for business purposes which is planned for May 2016. Please note that my visit would be around 7-10 days and not longer. I have U.S. Visa with multiple-entry until 2023. Would appreciate if you could inform me whether my U.S. Visa would be sufficient for entering Bermuda? Many thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2016)
Hi, a multiple entry US visa (with valid passport) is enough for tourists to enter Bermuda. But visitors coming on work or business (short or long term) also require a work permit. Bermuda based company inviting you needs to apply for this work permit (which may be a short term or periodic permit) and the permit is issued by Bermuda Immigration Department.

Stanton (February 2016)
I am a South African in negotiations with a prospective employer / company based in Bermuda. Part of my job responsibilities would be to travel to the US for business reason. Is the MRV the visa to get or is a work/business visa required.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2016)
Hi, Bermuda immigration department does not issue any work visa, instead a work permit is issued to the employer who in turn will send you a copy or the original. This along with MRV (Multi Re-entry transit Visa) should be okay to travel between Bermuda and the country (US, UK or Canada) for which you have the MRV. However, check out any further documentation requirements directly from your employer.

Chris Tulip (January 2016)
Hi, I plan to travel to Bermuda in June 2016. My US passport expires in October 2016. I know some countries will not allow passports that expire within a year of the planned travel. What are Bermuda's requirements? Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2016)
US Nationals can visit Bermuda as long as their passport remains valid until the date of departure from Bermuda. There is 45-days minimum validity requirement for countries other than US, UK and Canada. So you are good to go.

Camilla Woods (December 2015)
Hi Raj, It sounds like you may have answered my question in previous comments, but I just want to make 100% sure. I am a South African crew member on a private, foreign flagged sailing vessel and we are heading to Bermuda around the end of March next year. I have a 10 year US multi-entry visa, as well as a Canadian multi -entry visa. Will either of these suffice for travel to Bermuda? We will be sailing on to Europe from there. Thanks so much. Look forward to hearing from you.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2015)
Hi, Your visas are okay if your are visiting from either US or Canada and returning there. Otherwise you need visa for the country you are sailing in from and also for the country you are sailing out to.

Chenchen (October 2015)
Hi, how are you? I am the citizen of P.R. of China, but I have the valid working visa for the United States. I really want to go to Bermuda on Thanksgiving Day, which is November 26, however, my working visa expires on December 17, so I wanna know whether I can go to Bermuda with my U.S. working visa? I just notice that there is a minimum 45 days requirement for the visa, so I don't know whether it is mandatory or not. Thank you very much.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2015)
US Visa (multi entry) should be valid for minimum 45 days from the date of departure from Bermuda.

Brandi Joffrion (Octobert 2015)
Hi, I am flying to Bermuda in early November from Boston, then leaving for New Orleans late January. I know I can't come into the country on a one-way ticket, but if I bought a one-way ticket to Bermuda from Boston now, and then prior to entering the country in November, I bought another one-way ticket to New Orleans, would this proof be satisfactory for customs? Or should I simply book both flights now? Thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2015)
You should have both inward and outward tickets when you land in Bermuda and clear the immigration. It doesn't matter when you buy them.... together or one after the other.

Good day! I am a Filipino citizen living in the Philippines. I would like to know if I am required to present MRV multi-re entry visa to Bermuda? I have applied a visa to Bermuda but my application considered as withdrawn because I no longer need a visa for entry to Bermuda. My question is do I have to fly with roundrip ticket to Bermuda without any visa? If no what type of visa should I apply for or is it TRANSIT VISA?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2015)
You will need MRV which is a multi re-entry transit visa for US or UK (your pass through country) along with passport valid for at least 45 days from date of departure from Bermuda, and round trip tickets.

Alice (September 2015)
Hello, we are taking cruise on Norwegian Breakaway ship from September 20 to September 27 2015. We are us citizens. However, our 15 years old son's passport will expire on october 12 this year. Can he enter and exit Bermuda with this passport which will cover the cruise week? Thanks a lot for your help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2015)
Hi,  nationals of US, UK and Canada can travel to Bermuda as long as they have a valid passport (unexpired). A minimum 45 days validity period of passport is applicable for citizens of other countries. So your son can travel.

Maribel Magnaye (August 2015)
Hi, I am Philippines citizen and having working permit here in Canada, I'm currently working here, and I have US visa. I just want to know if I am valid to get there for vacation? Thank you

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, August 2015)
Yes, you can visit Bermuda, however note there are several conditions to be met like minimum 45 days validity of passport, return tickets, multiple entry US or Canada visa etc.

Marti-Mari (May 2015)
Dear Raj, There seems to be a lot of confusion in South Africa about visa's required to visit Bermuda from Visa application centres. Myself, my husband and our 10 month old are SA citizens and planning to visit friends in Canada and Bermuda in August. We all have valid passports and are applying for multi entry Canadian visas. If I understand correctly, we therefore don't need a UK visa to enter Bermuda. We have return tickets, valid passports and Multi visas. Please advise if my understanding is correct. Thank you very much. Kind regards.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2015)
Hi, if you have multi entry Canada visa and flying into Bermuda directly from Canada, then you won't need any UK visa, provided you return to Canada.

IRC (May 2015)
Hi Raj, I'm going to Bermuda by cruise this summer and I have some questions. I'm a Chinese citizen and I'm studying in US now, my F1 student visa has expired already, but my student status (which allows me to legally stay in US) is good until 2017. In this case, I can travel to US adjacent islands (including Bermuda) for less than 30 days and re-entering US without renewing my US visa, because my visa will be automatically re-validated when I'm back to US. I have already consulted US Customs and Border Protection to make sure I can get back to US after this trip. My question is, do I need additional visa to enter Bermuda in this case? Or should I get a Canada or UK visa to go to Bermuda by cruise? Thanks a lot!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2015)
Hi, Bermuda Customs/Immigration personnel may not understand automatic revalidation law of US and you may get haggled. Either you should take a written authorization from the US customs about your re-entry permit to the US, or get a multi entry US transit visa. Canada or UK transit visa will not work if you make a round trip from the US. There is no requirement of any Bermuda entry visa.

Lauren de Beer (May 2015)
Hi there, I have an enquiry with regards to visas. I see on your site that South Africans no longer require visas to enter Bermuda. We have just received our travel documents from Royal Caribbean and they indicate that we might have to apply for a VISA waiver onboard the ship at a cost of USD 25 per person. Is this in fact true ? We have multiple entry visas for the USA valid for ten years. We are cruising next week. Thanks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2015)
Hi, nobody requires a separate tourist entry visa for Bermuda nowadays. Concept of visa waiver therefore does not exist. It used to be there once. You already have the multi entry visa for US which you require. So talk to the cruise line and figure out which visa waiver they are talking about.

Rupert Ward-Lewis (May 2015)
Hi there, i would really appreciate your advice please. I have been asked by an American couple to film their wedding in Bermuda on the 3rd October and i wondered if I need a work visa to do this? I am a UK citizen. many tanks for your help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, May 2015)
Hi, According to the current work permit policy, a photographer or a journalist does not require an approval or work permit provided that, 1) work does not last for more than 7 days, 2) they are employed abroad by the private party or group, in this case the American couple, 3) the service does not get extended to Bermuda based clients, and 4) it's a one off case. So if your case satisfies all the above, you do not need a wok permit.

Mathew Tebbens (April 2015)
Hi Raj! My fiancé and I are planning to visit Bermuda this spring/summer. I am a U.S. Citizen, but my Fiancé is Indonesian. On your visa information page, Countries that required Bermuda visa prior to March 2014... Indonesia was not listed. Is she required to get a separate Bermuda visa along with a multiple re-entry transit visa? Thanks!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, April 2015)
Hi, Nobody requires a separate Bermuda visa these days. She will require a multi-entry transit visa, return tickets and a passport valid for a minimum of 45 days from the date of return from Bermuda.

Deborah Scott (March 2015)
My son (Canadian citizen) will be traveling to Bermuda in April for one week - has a return ticket. His passport expires in May. Are we required to renew his passport prior to his trip or is it acceptable for him to travel to Bermuda with his current passport, which expires in May? Thank you in advance for your help!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, March 2015)
Present Bermuda visa policy doesn't require any minimum passport validity period for citizens of Canada, UK and US. So he is okay to travel.

Babajide George Sangosanya (February 2015)
Hello Sir, I am a Nigerian living and working in South Africa at the moment holding a Nigerian passport, am willing to come to Bermuda as a tourist in months to come. Pls I will love to ask if I will be needing a separate Bermuda visa with a UK transit visa as well before am allowed to come into Bermuda? Or I apply for only transit visa. Please I will like you to get back to me with the new visa  update.Best regards, Yours Faithfully

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2015)
Hi, you need to have a multi-entry UK transit visa, and a passport which should be valid for at least 45 days beyond your intended departure from Bermuda, and of course return tickets. There is no separate entry visa required for Bermuda. You can apply for UK transit visa at the nearest British Embassy or their agents.

Robert Steiner (February 2015)
Hi Raj, I am a US Citizen and we currently have a French Au Pair living with us - she has a valid student visa to work/live in the US for one year (and can be extended for an additional year). We have plane tickets booked for
Bermuda in April, so my question is, does she need a visa to enter Bermuda, or will her French passport suffice? Thank You!

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2015)
Hi, visitors no longer require any separate entry visa for Bermuda. Assuming she has multiple entry US visa and a passport valid for at least 45 days from the date of intended departure from Bermuda, that should be good.

Prince Elerius (February 2015)
First and foremost, I have to thank you for creating such a good communication forum to answer questions about visits to Bermuda. A friend from Haiti wanted to pay visit to an expatriate friend working and living in Bermuda with three years full time work permit, what is it that she should do in order to enter Bermuda as Haitian? The visit will be only for two weeks.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2015)
Like any other tourist, she should get a multi re-entry transit visa for the US (assuming she is coming through US), have return air tickets and ensure that her passport is valid for a minimum of 45 days from the date of her departure from Bermuda.

Clement Der (January 2015)
Hello, I am a Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport. I am traveling to Bermuda in March 2015. My passport expires in August 2015. Would I have problems entering Bermuda? Should I renew my passport before I visit? Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated. sincerely,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, January 2015)
Hi, No need to renew your passport as long as it remains valid until you return. A minimum validity of 45 days from date of travel applies to countries other than Canada, UK and US.

Praveen Raj Kumar (December 2014)
Hi Raj, First of all I should thank you for creating this Website, which contains very useful information about Bermuda and also for following it up by answering our questions/doubts. Thanks a ton for that. I am an Indian Citizen, but working in Dortmund Germany (with Work and Residence Permit). Do I need to get a Visa to enter Bermuda and any idea of how much would it cost and how long would it take to get the Visa? Also you mention to check with the Bermuda Immigration for official confirmation. If you can post us the website link of this Bermuda Immigration, it will be very helpful for everyone. Great job man. Keep it up. I wish you could create websites of this kind for almost every tourist spot in this world. Thanks a Ton....

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2014)
Hi, You do not need any separate entry visa for Bermuda. But you will need a Multi Re-Entry Visa (MRV) for the country you will be transiting through (for example UK, as may be in your case). You will find contact info of Bermuda Department of Immigration in my Bermuda Passport and Visa Page for further clarifications.

Michelle Matthews (December 2014)
I am a Jamaican national with a multiple entry US visa. Do I still need a Bermuda visa to enter Bermuda?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2014)
Nope. You don't need any Bermuda visa to enter Bermuda as a tourist. Your passport must be valid for at least 45 days from your intended departure from Bermuda and you should produce a return ticket.

Belferroum Ibrahim (December 2014)
I'm an Algerian and I live in Algeria, I have a job contract with a marine company in Bermuda, but I don't know which visas I must ask and where, the company said that I need an MRV visa but I don't understand what's MRV and where I can ask for it and which documents I need.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, December 2014)
Hi, MRV stands for Multi Re-entry Visa which is actually a multiple entry transit visa for US, UK, or Canada through which you will reach Bermuda. So you need to apply for such visa at the Embassy/ consulate office of the respective country.

Rana Datta (October 2014)
Hi Raj, I'm an Indian citizen but living and working in Toronto at this point...my work permit ends on 28th Feb 2016. Please note that, I'm not a citizen or permanent resident of Canada yet. My passport is due for renewal in March 2017. I do have multiple entry US visa as well (which expires on 2021). Do I need a visa to enter Bermuda if I travel by air or my multiple entry US Business visa and Canadian work permit would allow me to get in. Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, October 2014)
Hi, as long as you have a valid passport (minimum validity period of 45 days from the intended date of departure from Bermuda) and your visa allows you to return to your port of origin, it should be fine.

Chandrakant A Naik (September 2014)
Dear Sir, I am an Indian citizen having UK visa ( C-type, Business) issued on 05/05/14 up to 05/11/2014 for 180 days. I intend to visit Bermuda from 26/10/2014 to 28/10/2014. Please advise whether above mentioned visa can be used for my subject tour. thanks in advance for your kind help.

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, September 2014)
Your passport and multiple entry UK visa must be valid for at least 45 days from the date of departure from Bermuda. Your visa does not satisfy this condition and therefore you won't be allowed entry into Bermuda with this visa.

Rhandy Boucicuat (August 2014)
I am planning on going on a cruise departing from New York, US and I wanted to know if I needed a Bermuda visa. I have my US Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) and I have a Haitian Passort (Haiti).

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, August 2014)
Your PRC should be fine to visit Bermuda. All Bermuda Immigration cares for is whether you can go back to the US or the country you are coming from. Check with Bermuda Immigration for official confirmation.

S Martin (June 2014)
Hi, I am a US citizen, but my husband is only a permanent resident of the United States. He holds a Lebanese passport, as he is a Lebanese citizen. We live in Boston, Massachusetts, in the U.S. and we want to go on a cruise from the U.S to Bermuda and back (7 days). Does he need a Visa or just his green/resident card and government I.D./Driver's License. Thanks

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2014)
Hi, As per the recent guidelines from Bermuda Immigration, nobody requires separate visa for Bermuda as long as one has multiple entry visa for US, UK or Canada. So if your husband has a permanent resident card of US, that is equivalent to multiple entry US visa, and won't require any visa for Bermuda.

Patricia Bobbwilliams (June 2014)
Hi I am planing to take my mom to a six days cruise to Bermuda she have a permanent resident card from the united state, does she need a visa for the cruise?

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2014)
No, she doesn't need a separate visa for Bermuda.

Vijay (June 2014)
Raj, I am an Indian citizen living in USA on H1B and my wife is on H4. We are planning cruise to Bermuda and just want to check if we both need Bermuda tourist visa .

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, June 2014)
As long as you have a valid multi entry US visa, that should be enough. There is no need for separate Bermuda entry visa.

Ava Anklesaria (February 2014)
Dear Raj, I seek help regarding travel to Bermuda. I am an Indian national with a valid passport [valid 3months to time of departure June 01 2014] and a multiple entry US work visa [valid up to Aug 2016]. I have already booked a trip to Bermuda this coming weekend based on information on their website which states that Indian nationals do not need visas and that 6 month validity on the passport is not required. However there doesn't seem to be any clear guidelines on this, and I am worried I may not be able to go on the trip. Please let me know where I can find accurate information regarding this issue. Regards

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com, February 2014)
Hi, There is no further accurate information on this matter anywhere. In fact to my question Bermuda's immigration officer wasn't absolutely clear on this although she mentioned that Bermuda doesn't generally have 6 months passport validity restriction. I'm guessing you are in the U.S now (which you haven't mentioned by the way). Even if Bermuda doesn't have this restriction, US immigration is likely to have such restriction. So how do you expect to leave or return? After all you are not a US citizen. Almost all international travel requires minimum 6 months of passport validity irrespective of visa validity. You will be taking a big chance in my view. I would cancel by bookings and renew my passport before I plan such trip.

Malcolm Saldanha
I am currently in Canada on a work permit and am of Indian Origin. I would like to know If I can visit Bermuda with the work permit. It is valid till end of 2013. Also, if I need to apply for a Visa, what should I do and how should I go about with it. Regards,

Raj (bermuda-attractions.com)
Hi Malcolm, to get a job in Bermuda, you will require Bermuda's work permit. Canadian work permit will not work. Would suggest that you go through the section Jobs in Bermuda in my website. That should give you almost all the information about jobs and work permits in Bermuda and how to go about it. Regards,
